The Google Pixel 6 series is a highly anticipated phone in the smartphone market and is expected to launch sometime towards the end of the year. They are expected to be called the Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro, dropping their previous preference for model names, the “XL”. From the leaks that have emerged online, the OEM and Google are now committed to deliver 5 years worth of updates on the two upcoming phones.
John Prosser, said that even though the leaks online are to be believed, they should be taken with a pinch of salt as Apple’s track record at play is very unpredictable. He has also said that the launch will happen sometime near October 2021 but nothing is official or confirmed yet.
In terms of the specifications of the Pixel 6, it is expected to run on Android 12 and come with a 6.4 inch AMOLED display. The phone will apparently boast a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter and a 12MP ultra wide lens. It will also feature an 8MP front camera. Along with the 8GB RAM, the phone will have 128 and 256GB internal storage options. The smartphone is touted to contain a 4614 mAh battery with fast charging support.
For the Google Pixel 6 Pro, like the Pixel 6, it will also run on Android 12 and is expected to boast a 6.71 inch plastic OLED display. The phone is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter, 48MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra wide sensor. For selfies, it will probably have a 12MP front facing camera. It is expected to have a 12GB RAM with three different internal storage options of 128, 256 and 512GB. Like the Pixel 6, it will also support fast charging and is touted to have a 5000 mAh battery.
Some reports state that both the phones will feature a strip-like camera module and a dual-tone design. They also state that Google is making a high-end smartphone in the Pixel 6 series with a powerful chip and a new design, which will put Google in play with OnePlus and Samsung in the smartphone market, which they had been lagging behind on for a long time.
