There is now an option to limit tweet replies on Twitter

Twitter is repeatedly trying to make the platform better and is testing new features like enabling voice messaging in DMs. Recently the social media platform expanded its limited reply feature that was rolled out last year. The feature previously entitled the users to limit who can reply to their tweets while posting them. However, now the new update in the feature will allow users to limit the number of replies in a tweet after the tweet is posted. Users can change the setting of the tweet after posting it and can also modify older tweets to limit the replies.

In the latest version, Twitter brought a new change for good, tipster Jane Manchun Wong noticed this difference and informed the public regarding the same. It might have happened to you that what you feel about a tweet, for someone else it might have a different meaning which often leads to trolling. Trolling is very common on Twitter, sometimes you post a tweet and forget to change the settings for who all can reply, and therefore end up deleting it but don’t worry about it now as this new feature lets you edit the tweet after you have posted it.

Twitter made this new feature more evident by posting it on the ‘Twitter Safety’ account. The tweet by the account signifies how important it is for Twitter to make the microblogging site a troll-free safe place for its users.

We’re just getting started with features to help you feel safer Tweeting and have more meaningful conversations.

To remove unwanted replies from tweets you have posted before or to restrict replies on a tweet immediately after posting it, visit the 3-dots icon and select ‘Change who can reply’. Choose from three options provided- Everyone, People you have mentioned or the People you follow.

This new Twitter feature will hand over the custody of replies over tweets to the users themselves which will keep them away from getting trolled. Users will choose whether or not they want any other person to think over their tweet. It seems like the feature has shown up as informed by Gadgets360, if you haven’t received it yet then try updating or waiting for a while.
