WABetaInfo recently passed a report consisting of the features that the most popular messaging app WhatsApp is currently working on. WABetaInfo keeps an eye on the tests the messaging app does and notifies the users about the same before the feature comes out officially. They have noticed WhatsApp working on new features called in-detailed link previews, high-quality image and video sharing, which might sound minor but will be a big comfort.
WhatsApp was glimpsed testing larger link previews on one of the beta version tests. As per the report, the feature is all about improving the link previews and was assessed for both iOS and Android versions of the app. The prime goal of the feature update to appear shortly is to make it easier for people to get a better idea of what the link shared on the App is about.
The images shared by WABetaInfo shows how the link previews appear to be in the Beta version where the feature is being tested, the preview was observed to be more informative and also had an image related to the content behind the link that the user shares or receives. This feature is still in progress and as per the report, it is likely to appear in the next update.
Links to those websites that do not support the option of large preview the preview will be usual to what it is now; 3-4 lines about the link and a thumbnail. If you are a beta tester then you can check this feature by updating the app to the latest version.
There is another feature that the WhatsApp is working on which will allow users to send high-quality images to their contacts. There will be 3 options to choose from and users as per their wish can either choose the default Auto option where the app automatically decides the best image quality. The other option is Best Quality available and the last one reduces the size of the image when Data Saver is enabled. This feature is also being tested and has not come out publicly.
